Metzger's Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 (15 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (i use very thinly sliced fresh garlic so it liquifs in the olive oil)
  • 2 -3 table spoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp basil
  • 1 tbsp italian seasoning
  • 2 large bay leaves
  • 1 medium onion, diced (optional)
  • black pepper (to taste)

Directions:

  1. Combine crushed tomatoes, tomatoe paste and spices in a large pan and bring to a simmer.
  2. In a skillet comine Olive Oil, minced garlic, diced onion and meat. Cook until meat is done and onion is soft.
  3. Add meat, onion, garlic, olive oil to simmering tomatoe sauce.
  4. Let simmer for about 30 minutes.
  5. Enjoy over spaghetti noodles.
