Marinan's Garlic Cheese Grits

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups grits
  • 12 tbsp butter (1 1/2 sticks)
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp tabasco sauce , recipe says 4-6 shakes (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325º.
  2. Butter a large casserole dish.
  3. Beat the eggs in a small bowl.
  4. Put water in a pan and place on high heat on the stove.
  5. Grate the American cheese.
  6. Add grits to the boiling water.
  7. Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  8. Combine with other ingredients and mix well; pour in the casserole dish.
  9. Bake uncovered for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
