Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until creamy and soft, then gradually beat in the egg.
  2. Add two cap fulls of vanilla essence.
  3. Sift the flour and mix into the mixture using a spoon to begin with and then your hands.
  4. Gather the mixture together and knead for a few mins to make a smooth dough.
  5. Wrap the dough in cling film and cool in the fridge for 30 mins.
  6. Once dough has been chilled heat the oven to 180 degrees gas mark 4.
  7. Roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
  8. Cut out shapes and place on a baking tray.
  9. Bake for ten mins until golden.
