Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp grated lemon rind optional
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan, stirring until smooth. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Add remaining ingredients. Heat thoroughly. Serve. Makes about 1 2/3 cup.
