Lavender Sparkling Wine (Food Network Kitchens)

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz lavender syrup, recipe follows
  • 4 oz dry sparkling wine , such as a cava or prosecco

Directions:

  1. Pour the syrup into a champagne glass. Add the sparkling wine. Serve.

  3. Lavender Syrup:
  4. 2 cups water
  5. 1 cup sugar
  6. 1 tablespoon dried lavender buds
  7. Place the water, sugar, and lavender in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, partially covered, for 15 minutes. Strain and cool. Cover and refrigerate for up to a week.
  8. Yield: 2 cups
