Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix meal, flour, egg, and milk.
  2. This should be thick.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper. Mix well.
  4. Then add jalapeño and hot sauce.
  5. Refrigerate until thicker.
  6. Drop by spoonfuls off into the hot oil and fry until brown.
  7. Very light and fluffy.
  8. A hush puppy should not be packy.
  9. This sounds hot but the frying makes the jalapeño sweet and the hot sauce only adds flavor.
  10. Salt lightly after taking out of oil onto paper towels.
  11. This is my own recipe.
