Ingredients:

  • 1 lb - generous oatmeal , or wheat flour
  • 1 cup plus 1 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp lard
  • 1 dash salt

Directions:

  1. From grandmother's more thrifty times; rarely encountered today.
  2. In a skillet, brown the oatmeal a bit.
  3. Then add water and salt.
  4. In a cast iron skillet, pan fry the resulting thick dough in the lard, tearing it into pieces in the process.
