Ingredients:

  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Mix ingredients in order listed, dissolving soda in boiling water.
  2. Bake in an 9 x 13 glass pan, which has been greased and floured at 350° for 40 minutes.
