Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teapoo baking soda
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.F
  2. Combine cocoa and baking soda in mixing bowl; blend in 1/3 cup of the vegetable oil.
  3. Add boiling water and stir until thickened. Stir in sugar, eggs, and remaining oil; stir until batter is smooth.
  4. Stir in flour, vanilla, and salt, mixing until well blended.
  5. Fold in chopped nuts.
  6. Pour into a greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  8. Coolin pan on rack.
