  1. Mash the beans in a bowl.
  2. In a medium skillet, heat the oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the onion and the garlic; cook and stir until onion is deep golden, about 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the mashed beans and cook for about one minute.
  5. Add salt to taste.
  6. Makes about one pint.
