Easy Apple Spice Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 (18 1/2 oz) package spice cake mix
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp butter or 2 tbsp margarine

Directions:

  1. Blend half a package (approximately 2 1/4 cups) cake mix, water, and egg in a mixing bowl.
  2. Beat at medium speed until batter is smooth.
  3. Pour half the batter into a greased 9 square pan.
  4. Combine remaining cake mix with cinnamon; add melted butter (or margarine) and vanilla.
  5. Toss with a fork to form large crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle half of crumb mixture over batter in pan.
  7. Arrange 1 cup of apple slices over crumb mixture.
  8. Carefully spoon on remaining batter.
  9. Arrange rest of apple slices over batter.
  10. Dot with the butter and sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
  11. Bake in 350 degree oven 40-45 minutes or until done.
  12. Serve warm.
