Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups dr. pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 tsp vanila
  • 1 to 2 cups chopped nuts . (optional)

Directions:

  1. Mix sugar, dr. pepper, chocolate and corn syrup in a heavy sauce pan.
  2. Cook very slowly, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved and chocolate is melted.
  3. Continue cooking on low to med heat until 236 degree's is reached on a candt thermometer or soft ball stage.
  4. Remove from heat and cool to 110 degree's then add butter and vanilla.
  5. Beat until candy loses it's shiny look.
  6. Add nuts and pour into slightly buttered pan.
  7. When cool, cut into squares.
