Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Chop dates and margarine into small pieces
  2. Put dates, margarine, bicarbonate of soda, salt, sugar and boiling water into a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix until margarine has melted
  4. Beat in the beaten egg
  5. Fold in the flour
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for approx 1 1/2 hours
  7. Serve buttered
