Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar , packed
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter or 1/2 cup margarine

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the pears, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg; toss to coat. Transfer to a 9-inch pie plated coated with cooking spray, sprinkle with almonds.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over top.
  3. Bake at 350F for 40-45 minutes or unitl golden brown.
  4. Cool on wire rack. Store in refrigerator.
