Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Heat the oil.
  2. Add the dals, mustard seeds, curry leaves, cumin seeds, green chillies, red chillies and peanuts.
  3. When the dals turn slightly brown, add the ginger followed by turmeric powder.
  4. Fry for about another minute till the mustard seed crackles.
  5. Now add the grated coconut and lime juice.
  6. Reduce heat and mix for a minute.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Add this to the cooked rice.
  9. Add salt to taste.
  10. Serve hot.
  11. Option- The lime juice can also be mixed with the cooked rice just before serving.
  12. This gives a great aroma to the rice.
