Cheesiest Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb macaroni cooked according to package directions, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 5 cup milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Melt butter in a large sauce pan over medium heat, be careful not to scorch.
  3. Slowly whisk flour into melted butter until smooth
  4. Add milk 1C at a time, stirring until flour mixture is blended before adding the next cup of milk
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste
  6. Stir constantly just until bubbly and mixture thickens (coats back of spoon)
  7. Add cheese reserving one cup for topping
  8. Mix macaroni noodles into cheese sauce
  9. Pour into 13x9 pan
  10. Top with remaining 1C Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  11. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown
  12. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
