Caramel-filled Brownies

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325*.
  2. Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan.
  3. In a small pan melt chocolate and 1/2 cup butter, stirring constanlty.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Beat eggs in a large bowl .
  6. Add sugar and vanilla, mix.
  7. Add chocolate butter mixture, mix.
  8. Add the flour and mix until just combined.
  9. Pour half of the brownie batter into the repared pan. Smooth top.
  10. Bake 15- 20 min or until top is firm.
  11. To prepare the caramel:
  12. Heat butter, sugar and corn syrup in heavy pan over medium heat, stirring constanlty until sugar dissolves.
  13. Increase heat to high and boil 1 1/2 minutes.
  14. Remove from heat and stir cream in.
  15. Keep warm
  16. Spread warm caramel over brownie.
  17. Pour remaining half of brownie mixture over caramel, smoothing the top.
  18. Bake an additional 25-30 minutes.
  19. Cool brownie is pan, then cut into squares.
