Aunt Becky's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/3 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Combine the first 4 ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine the second 4 ingredients in another bowl.
  4. Mix both bowls together.
  5. Roll out and cut dough using cookie cutters.
  6. Bake until light brown, let cool then frost.
  7. For the frosting combine final 4 ingredients.
  8. If its too thin, add more sugar, too thick, add more milk.
