Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar and almonds. Reserve 1/2 cup of this mixture.
  2. Thoroughly cream shortening and remaining sugar-almond mixture.
  3. Add whole egg and egg yolk.
  4. Beat well.
  5. Add flour, lemon zest and lemon juice.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Spread in greased 9 square pan.
  8. Brush with egg white.
  9. Sprinkle with reserved sugar-almond mixture.
  10. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes.
