The Best, No-Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar , plus
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar , plus
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 1/8 tsp water
  • 5 eggs
  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cream together first (5) ingredients.
  2. Add eggs and mix well.
  3. In seperate bowl sift all dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
  4. Add chips and nuts, stir to combine.
  5. Spoon onto ungreased cookie sheets (2 apart).
  6. Bake in preheated oven, 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
