Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions:

  1. Make the syrup: put the brown sugar and water into a small saucepan, bring to the boil, stirring occasionally, and simmer gently for 3-4 minutes to dissolve the sugar. Wash the peaches (do not peel) and cut them in half, from top to bottom. Remove the stones. Put the peaches into an ovenproof dish with the cut sides face upwards, and pour the hot syrup over the fruit, spooning it into the holes left by the stones. Put into a warm oven (350F/180C/Gas Mark 4) for 10-15 minutes, until the fruit is hot and the syrup bubbling.
