Ingredients:

  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 to 6 cups sifted flour
  • 6 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together and let rise.
  2. Work down and roll out dough.
  3. Cut out with doughnut cutter
  4. Fry in Deep fat, then glaze with icing
