Slice And Bake Pinwheel Cookies

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar together.
  2. Add egg yolk and milk. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add to creamed mixture and mix.
  4. Divide the dough into two.
  5. Add melted chocolate to one half and mix.
  6. Roll out plain dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  7. Roll chocolate dough to the same size and place on top of plain dough.
  8. Roll the two doughs together like a jelly roll. Wrap roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm about 2 hours or overnight.
  9. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  10. Cut dough into slices and bake on greased baking pan for about 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 30 cookies.
