6 sauerkraut rye bread oven Recipes

rye bread or 8 slices pumpernickel bread, thousand island dressing, sliced deli corned beef, sauerkraut, well drained, swiss cheese, long (12 oz total )

sauerkraut, drained, caraway seeds, thousand island dressing, rye bread slices without caraway seeds, pumpernickel bread slices, swiss cheese slices, shaved corned beef (about 1 1/2 lb)

using your bread machine (for mixing only)-add these ingredients in the serving listed by manufacturer, rinsed and well drained (almost squeezed out ) sauerkraut that you have chopped a bit, warm (not hot) water, molasses , melted butter and brown sugar, caraway seeds (i used 3 teaspoons), kosher salt (if using table salt-use a little less), rye flour, bread flour, a darker loaf-add 1-2 tsp baking cocoa-i did , and no, there s no chocolate flavor-it s just there for color), active dry yeast, vital wheat gluten-optional *i liked the texture better with gluten, but you may like it without

rye toast cracker crumbs (sometimes i have trouble finding this. if so, i use rye bread sliced thin and toast it in a slow oven, about 250 degrees till dry and be made into crumbs), cream cheese, minced onion, sauerkraut, drained, corned beef ( i can never find this in my area so i get 3/4 lb from the deli counter and chop it very fine)
