Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins

Directions:

  1. Sift together dry ingredients; cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add eggs and milk, stirring until well blended. Stir in raisins.
  2. Turn dough out onto a well-floured surface, and lightly knead 7 to 8 times.
  3. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on greased baking sheets. Bake at 400° for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
