Ingredients:

  1. ***Cook time includes chill time and total baking time for all cookies***
  2. Very finely chop candy orange slices. Mix together with 1/4 c. of the flour. Set aside.
  3. Sift together the remaining 3 c. flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  4. In large bowl, cream together shortening and sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and water. Stir in flour mixture.
  5. Stir in oats, coconut, orange zest, and orange slice mixture. Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
  6. Drop level tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 325 degrees F for 12 - 14 minutes. Makes 8 - 10 dozen cookies.
