Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup raisins optional

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350*. Cream shortening and sugars together. Mix in the egg, water and vanilla. In another bowl mix together the flour, salt and baking soda. Slowly add the flour mixture and the oatmeal to the shortening mixture then the oatmeal and raisins if using them. Drop by teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
