Mom's Blonde Brownies (Blondies)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup margarine (i use ) or 2/3 cup shortening
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 (12 oz) package chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar well, until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Stir in dry ingredients (batter will be thick).
  4. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Spoon into a greased 9x13 pan.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. (Do not over bake. Top should be slightly crusty and middle will be somewhat gooey.).
