Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Wash and soak rice for atleast 1/2 an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.Add onion and fry till golden brown.
  3. Add cardamom,cumin seeds,cloves,cinnamon stick and black pepper.
  4. Stir fry for 30 seconds,then add ginger garlic paste.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes.Roughly mash with the back of the spoon.Add red chillies powder and stir well.
  6. When well mixed,add peas and water.Cook on medium heat until peas are almost cooked.
  7. Drian the water from rice and add rice to peas mixture.Stir and add water and salt.
  8. Mix and cook on high heat until it comes to a boil.
  9. Reduce heat to medium.Cover and cook until the water is almost absorbed.
  10. Sprinkle garam masala powder and nutmeg & mace powder.
  11. Now cook on low heat,covered, for 5-10 minutes(until water is dried and rice is completely cooked).
  12. Serve hot with salad and raita.
