Inez's Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
  2. Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla.
  3. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each one.
  4. Sift flour, baking powder and baking soda together.
  5. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, ending with flour.
  6. For topping, cut butter into brown sugar.
  7. Add Flour.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Add cinnamon and nuts.
  10. Spread half the batter in a greased tube pan.
  11. Sprinkle with half the topping.
  12. Cover with remaining batter.
  13. Sprinkle with the remaining topping.
  14. Bake for 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
