Honey Walnut Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Scald milk in large saucepan.
  2. Add honey and sugar and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
  3. **Mixture will curdle - a reaction that is normal and harmless**
  4. Cool the mixture
  5. Beat in softened butter and egg yolks
  6. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt and turn into batter.
  7. Beat well
  8. Add nuts
  9. Pour batter into buttered and floured loaf pan.
  10. Bake for about 1 hour or until tests done
  11. Turn out on wire rack after it cools partially
  12. Freezes well.
