Ginger Pear Preserves

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups cubed pears (about 1 3/4 lb)
  • 3/4 cup chopped seeded lemon (1 large)
  • 1/4 cup pear flavored liqueur
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions:

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a large saucepan. Stir in sugar and
  2. Water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat; cover and let stand 12 hours (do not refrigerate).
  4. Bring to a boil, uncovered, over high heat. Reduce heat, and simmer 1 hour and 15 minutes or until thick, stirring occasionally.
