Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cup. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 cup. crisco
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • filling
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cup. currants
  • 1 cup. raisins
  • 1 tsp. connamon
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. milk

Directions:

  1. Blend pastry ingredients, using 5 Tablespoons cold water to bind.
  2. Line 9 x 13 pan with 1/2 of pastry.
  3. Mix all filling ingredients together, saving a small amount of egg and milk mixture.
  4. Spread filling on pastry.
  5. Spread rest of pastry on top of filling.
  6. Prick top with a fork.
  7. Brush with egg-milk mixture.
  8. Sprinkle granulated sugar (small amount) on top.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
  10. Cool.
  11. Cut into squares.
