Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 (1/4 oz) packages yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Scald milk and add butter, sugar,and salt.
  2. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to milk mixture.
  3. Beat in eggs, then beat in flour and nutmeg.
  4. Cover, and let rise until double, about an hour.
  5. Divide into 3 pieces.
  6. Place the 3 pieces into 3 separate greased round cake pans.
  7. Cover and let rise again.
  8. For the topping: Spread the 1/2 cup melted butter all over the tops of the 3 kuchens.
  9. With finger, press holes one inch apart all over the top of the kuchens.
  10. Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon and soft butter.
  11. Divide brown sugar mixture evenly over the top of the kuchens.
  12. Bake in 325 degree oven for about 20 min or until golden brown.
  13. Note: After its cooled, you can add a vanilla glaze over the tops for an extra special treat.
