Fig And Goat Cheese Bruschetta

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. 3 days before serving make the fig jam and refrigerate, then bring to room temperature just before serving on toast.
  2. Combine first 7 ingredients in a small saucepan, bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes until figs are tender.
  4. Uncover and cook 5 minutes until mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and cool completely, refrigerate.
  6. The Day of serving.
  7. Preheat oven to 350*F
  8. Toast the bread until light brown on both sides.
  9. Preheat oven to broil.
  10. Top each bread slice with 1-1/2 tsp. of fig mixture and 1-1/2 tsp. goat cheese.
  11. Arrange brushchetta on a baking sheet.
  12. Sprinkle evenly with chopped walnuts.
  13. Broil 2 minutes until nuts begin to turn brown.
  14. Serve warm.
