Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp buttermilk -- or sour milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • topping
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Mix all except topping and pour into 2 greased loaf pans.
  2. Combine topping ingredients and spread over the batter and bake at 325 F for 1 hour or tested done
  3. This makes 2 loaves
