Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 eggs

Directions:

  1. Measure 1 cup flour into bowl and cut in 1/2 cup butter.
  2. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons water and mix with a fork.
  3. Round into a ball and divide in half.
  4. Pat dough in 2- 12 x13 strips- Strips should be 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Mix 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water in saucepan- Bring to a boil.
  6. Add almond flavoring and remove from heat.
  7. Stir in remaining flour immediately to keep from lumping.
  8. When smooth and thick, add one egg at a time and beat.
  9. Divide in half and spread over pastry.
  10. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  11. Frost with powdered sugar frosting of your choice.
