Craig's Grandma's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shortening
  • 1 (15 oz) can applesauce
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 6 cups oatmeal

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. Mix baking soda into applesauce.
  3. Cream together the shortening and sugars.
  4. Add eggs, milk and applesauce.
  5. Sift together the dry ingredients.
  6. Add to the sugar mixture.
  7. Add oatmeal and chocolate chips.
  8. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until lightly golden.
