Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • preheat oven to 375of.

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg and beat well. Add vanilla to milk and stir in.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to above mixture. Beat until smooth, about 1 minute.
  3. Grease and lightly flour a round 9 inch cake pan or 8 inch square pan.
  4. Spread batter evenly and bake for 20-25 minutes or until tooth pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  5. Remove from oven and spread immediately with butter. Sift powdered sugar and cinnamon over cake. Serve warm
