Chocolate Sauce Supreme

Ingredients:

  • 1 (6-oz) package semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/4 cup creme de cacao liqueur

Directions:

  1. Combine chocolate morsels, butter, sugar, salt, corn syrup, and water in a heavy saucepan.
  2. Place over low heat; stir until chocolate melts.
  3. Remove from heat, and add liqueur and vanilla.
  4. Serve immediately, or pour hot mixture into hot, sterilized half-pint jars.
  5. Cool and store in refrigerator.
  6. Serve over pound cake or ice cream.
  7. Yield: about 2 cups.
