Chocolate Chip Cookies Mix In A Jar

Ingredients:

  • this is a mix in a jar sort of recipe so the rest of the ingredients will be listed in the directions
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups or 9 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. place flour mixture in 1 quart canning jar. place chocolate chips in next followed by brown sugar and then white sugar.
  • it is helpful to tap jar on a lightly padded surface.
  • to top the jar off making it more decorative cut a 9 inch circle from fabric of your choice, fastening in place with a rubber band. you may wish to add raffia or ribbon bow to cover the rubber band.

Directions:

  1. Create and attach a card with the following directions:
  2. 3/4 cup or 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine
  3. 1 large egg
  4. 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
  5. 1/2 nuts optional
  6. Preheat oven to 375f.
  7. Beat 3/4 cup softened butter or margarine, 1 large egg
  8. And 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract in large mixer bowl
  9. Until blended.
  10. Add cookie mix and 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  11. (optional); mix well, breaking up any clumps.
  12. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto un-greased baking sheets.
  13. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
  14. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to
  15. Cool completely. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
