Charishma's Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Stir in butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Now dissolve yeast in water and stir into the dry mixture alongwith buttermilk.
  4. Roll out dough onto a floured surface and cut out biscuits.
  5. Place on a lightly greased baking pan and bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Serve with tea or coffee.
