sliced green cabbage, fresh beet, shredded, baby carrots, chopped onion, garlic cloves, minced, lean stewing beef, cut into 1/2 inch cubes, diced tomatoes, undrained, beef broth, lemon juice, sugar, black pepper, sour cream or fresh dill

pot of boiling water 3/4 full, beef bones, beets, carrots, onion, cabbage, green bell pepper, soft peeled tomatoes ( can substitute with canned ), chopped garlic, cilantro/parsley/ dill, lemon juice, amount of white vinegar, salt and black pepper to taste.
