Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brown sugar , firmly packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 cups kellogg's just right cereal
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar , firmly packed

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease and flour a 13x9-inch pan.
  3. In a large bowl, cream brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  4. Add applesauce and egg; blend well.
  5. Stir in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, cloves and nutmeg until well mixed.
  6. Stir in cereal.
  7. Spread mixture into prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Prepare glaze:.
  10. Melt butter over low heat and stir in brown sugar.
  11. Cook about 1 minute or until mixture bubbles, stirring constantly.
  12. Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar.
  13. While glaze is still hot, drizzle it over warm bars.
  14. Cool completely; cut into squares.
