Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix all the above ingredients.
  2. Press into a 7 x 11 greased baking pan.
  3. Press the gumdrop pieces into the dough.
  4. Beat egg whites with brown sugar to make a soft meringue.
  5. Fold in the coconut.
  6. Spread evenly on top.
  7. Bake 325 degrees oven F.
  8. Bake 25 minutes.
  9. Note: the topping is a double recipe thats the way my family like them.
  10. You can make one egg white 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup coconut if desired.
  11. Remove and cool on rack.
  12. Cut when cool, into squares.
