Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 1/4 cups shortening
  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 9 cups quick oats
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Sift dry ingredients.
  2. Add shortening, brown sugar, eggs, & half the milk.
  3. Beat until smooth.
  4. Fold the remaining milk, raisins, & oats.
  5. Drop on greased baking sheet.
  6. Press cookies flat with a damp paper towel on the bottom of a glass.
  7. Bake in an oven at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
