Steamed Artichokes With Lemon Wasabi Sauce

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Artichoke preparation:
  2. Cut stem off at base of artichoke and cut off bottom; peel skin off stem.
  3. Rub cut surfaces with fresh lemon to prevent browing.
  4. Peel outer leaves from artichoke.
  5. Cut top one-third off of artichokes.
  6. Rub all cut surfaces with fresh lemons. Squeeze the remaining juice and pulp of lemon down the center of the artichoke.
  7. Place artichokes in (steamer basket) simmering water with the leftover whole lemon.
  8. Sprinkle 1 Tbs. of fresh garlic over the artichokes, and push down into leaves.
  9. Sprinkle the black pepper on top.
  10. Simmer for 25 to 30 minutes.
  11. Sauce preparation:
  12. Mix to sauce consistency and refrigerate until needed.
  13. Serve with steamed artichokes.
