1. Preheat oven to 325°F
2. Have all ingredients at room temperature.
3. In a mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well.
5. Add coconut and butternut flavoring.
6. Sift together flour and baking powder in a bowl.
7. Alternately add flour mixture and milk into creamed mixture; mix until combined.
8. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan.
9. Bake 1 3/4 hours or until the cake tests done.
