  • 2 Have all ingredients at room temperature.
  • 3 In a mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 4 Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well.
  • 5 Add coconut and butternut flavoring.
  • 6 Sift together flour and baking powder in a bowl.
  • 7 Alternately add flour mixture and milk into creamed mixture; mix until combined.
  • 8 Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan.
  • 9 Bake 1 3/4 hours or until the cake tests done.
