Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornmeal
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt
  2. Add the sugar and cornmeal
  3. Mix to a light batter with the beaten eggs, milk and melted shortening.
  4. Bake in well greased waffle iron.
