Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Sift flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice and cloves into a bowl - then set aside.
  2. With a mixer, cream the shortening, gradually add sugar, beat until light. Add eggs, beating until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the flour to the sugar mixture and mix well.
  4. Fold the dry mix into the batter.
  5. Mix in the beer.
  6. Spoon into a greased 10 inch cake pan
  7. Bake at 350 deg for ~1 hour
